Job summary

General Physician, P.C. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Medical Receptionist (PSR) for a full-time, onsite role with a first shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

In this position you will be the patient’s first contact, handle check-in/check-out, appointments, insurance verification, and EMR documentation while delivering courteous service and supporting smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare facility or strong customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance and medical terminology preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to utilize computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact with patients and families via check-in and scheduling.
• Verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and follow service line protocols.
• Pre-register patients, check out, schedule follow-ups, and document interactions in the EMR.
• Process mail, faxes, and referrals; handle end-of-day cash and card reconciliations.
• Maintain waiting area cleanliness and ensure timely appointment communication.
