Job summary

UPMC University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Patient Services Representative to join the OB/GYN Associates of Pittsburgh team in Blawnox, PA. The role involves welcoming patients, answering calls, scheduling appointments, collecting copays, and coordinating with a care team to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with occasional evenings; no weekends or holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm greeting for all patients
• Guide patients through self-arrival technology or check-in at desk
• Collect copayments and any other applicable patient payments at the point of service
• Confirm and/or update patient registration information at checkout
• Schedule follow-up appointments within the practice at checkout
• Schedule or connect patient to resources to schedule for ancillary services at checkout
• Help patients navigate the healthcare system by providing clear instructions and follow-up for unresolved questions
• Register patients in Biometrics program and explain benefits
• Promote MyUPMC patient portal and assist with registration
• Assist patients in education of financial responsibility and connect them to advocacy resources
• Verify insurance benefits with the carrier via online systems or phone
• Obtain signature for consent to treatment and financial responsibility per HIPAA
• Triage phone calls and route to appropriate areas or providers
• Assist with administrative duties including scanning records and faxing
• Stay informed on navigation of the UPMC Patient Portal and guide patients accordingly
