Job summary

Covenant Medical Group’s Oak Ridge Surgeons office is seeking a Patient Service Representative to provide administrative support at the check-out desk. The role involves collecting payments, processing encounter forms, and balancing day-end totals in a fast-paced medical office.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of medical office experience or 3 years in customer service, with familiarity of ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding. HS diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of medical office experience OR 3 years of total customer-facing experience.
• Experience with ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding (charge entry) preferred.
• HS diploma or GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established departmental policies and safety standards.
• Schedule appointments for return visits and end-of-day procedures; balance daily work.
• Collect and balance encounter form data and outstanding balances.
• Record changes in patient information and ensure fee slips reflect procedures/diagnoses.
• Assist with check-out operations and coordination with billing personnel.
• Collaborate with patients, physicians and care team as part of a team-based approach.
