Job summary

Ascension at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, WI seeks a full-time Patient Access Specialist for day shift. You will greet patients, collect demographics, verify insurance and bills, and coordinate with clinical staff to support patient flow.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and preferred BLS certification; healthcare experience is a plus. Schedule is 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM–4:30 PM with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous education in medical terminology strongly preferred.
• Experience in the job related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, respond to questions/concerns and direct them to appropriate locations.
• Provide on-going communication with clinical staff regarding patient status.
• Collect and enter demographic, clinical, billing and insurance information and determine payments including co-pays and deductibles.
• Explain processes and forms to patients prior to securing signatures and ensure proper signing and witnessing as required.
