Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to join our Phoenix location. The role focuses on front desk operations, patient intake, and accurate maintenance of patient records within Athenaone and Phreesia.

The ideal candidate will have prior medical office experience, be skilled in greeting patients, handling demographics and insurance information, and collecting co-pays. You will support a large, physician-owned specialty practice committed to patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Prior medical front desk experience preferred; training available.
• Greet patients warmly and manage front desk activities.
• Maintain accurate patient records and demographics.
• Assist with collecting co-pays and processing receipts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare front office for daily activities and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Warmly greet patients, guests, vendors and visitors.
• Ensure patient paperwork and insurance information are current and correct.
• Collect co-pays when applicable and issue receipts.
• Notify physician office of patient arrivals and changes.
• Maintain accurate patient information in Athenaone and Phreesia databases.
• Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate staff.
• Contribute to delivering an extraordinary patient experience.

EXPERIENCE:

As one of the largest private group practices in the US, BBS is looking for a Patient Services Specialist to join our Location! In general, the Patient Services Specialist will:

• Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred but we are willing to train.
• Prepare front office for daily activities.
• Warmly greet patients, guests, vendors, and visitors
• Ensure that all patient paperwork, demographics, and insurance information is up to date and correct.
• Collects co-pay if necessary and issues receipt.
• Notifies physician office and/or clinic staff of patient arrivals.
• Maintains accurate and timely patient information in Athenaone and Phreesia databases.
• Answer telephones and transfers caller to appropriate staff member
• Help create an extraordinary patient experience!
