Responsibilities:

• Answer phones promptly, courteously, and helpfully, screening and routing calls, creating phone notes in the patient electronic medical record, and providing information to patients.
• Assist in indexing patient documents correctly.
• Route electronic faxes to the correct location or upload them to the appropriate patient chart.
• Assist with other duties as needed during downtime.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with computer programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Training in practice management software, with ongoing learning as updates occur.
• Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
• High School diploma or GED (minimum qualification).

Preferred Experience:

• At least one year of medical office experience.
• Basic knowledge of insurance plans and the referral process for specialties.
