Responsibilities:
- Answer phones promptly, courteously, and helpfully, screening and routing calls, creating phone notes in the patient electronic medical record, and providing information to patients.
- Assist in indexing patient documents correctly.
- Route electronic faxes to the correct location or upload them to the appropriate patient chart.
- Assist with other duties as needed during downtime.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency with computer programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Training in practice management software, with ongoing learning as updates occur.
- Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- High School diploma or GED (minimum qualification).
Preferred Experience:
- At least one year of medical office experience.
- Basic knowledge of insurance plans and the referral process for specialties.
