Job summary

OU Health's Reproductive Medicine Clinic seeks a Patient Services Representative (PSR) Level 1 or 2 to coordinate schedules, assist with clerical tasks, and greet patients in a busy outpatient setting. Candidates should have a High School diploma and at least 1 year of professional experience; Level 2 requires 3+ years in customer service, including 6 months in a clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of professional work experience required.
• 3+ years of customer service experience, including at least 6 months in a clinical environment, required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments, by phone or in person.
• Provides information about clinic operations.
• Obtains and updates patient demographics.
• Answers calls and distributes to appropriate staff.
• Coordinates multi-service patient schedules.
• Greets patients entering the clinic for appointments.
• Accepts payments and issues receipts.
• Prepares and verifies encounter forms for accuracy.
• Ensures signatures on encounter forms and charting.
• Copies insurance cards and uploads into the EMR.
• Balances and closes cash drawer daily.
• Prepares ancillary forms for other services.
• Promotes the patient portal for communications.
• Pulls charts for appointments and files lab/hospital data.
• Copies medical records as needed.
• Creates new patient charts packets.
• Discusses financial accounts with patients.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and PCP relationship.
• Secures referrals for HMO patients.
• Collects proof of income for sliding scale as applicable.
• Monitors WQs in EMR for referrals.
