  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. No evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Location: UPMC Magee Women's Hospital - 300 Halket St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213
  • Position: Full-Time, Patient Services Representative
Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to support our busy Ob/Gyn practice. The role involves patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling via in person, phone, and MyUPMC App, along with administrative duties. Previous clerical experience and Epic knowledge are preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures.
  2. Schedule appointments and follow-up visits.
  3. Collect copayments and payments at the point of service.
  4. Update patient demographics and insurance information.
  5. Educate patients about financial responsibilities and assist with portal registration.
  6. Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary signatures following HIPAA regulations.
  7. Assist with administrative tasks such as medical record scanning and faxing.
  8. Promote a culture of service excellence and handle patient inquiries effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with computers and office equipment.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in healthcare, billing, or customer service; knowledge of medical terminology; experience with Medipac, Epic, or similar systems.
  • Act 34 clearance required.
