UPMC Part-Time Professional Staff Nurse, OP - University OB/GYN Team at Magee Women's Hospital

UPMC is hiring a Part-Time Professional Staff Nurse, OP to join their University OB/GYN team at Magee Women's Hospital. This role offers a supportive, culturally diverse environment with community and employee engagement opportunities. The nurse will support nursing baskets, patient education, provider partnerships, care coordination, and other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position works 2 weekdays per week from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work days vary based on office needs. No holidays or weekends are required. Previous experience in Women's Health and Epic is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in quality improvement efforts within the department or practice. Identify opportunities for improvement, contribute to patient satisfaction, and utilize research and evidence-based practices to enhance clinical care.
  2. Establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, providers, patients, and families. Work effectively in a complex environment, handle multiple priorities, and utilize specialized equipment. Use clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in patient care. Demonstrate mobility, manual dexterity, and physical stamina.
  3. Apply adult learning principles to teach patients, families, students, and new staff. Provide detailed education to patients and families, support staff development, and foster an environment of open dialogue and continuous improvement.
  4. Develop patient-centered goals and care plans, coordinate with physicians, and assist in assessments, evaluations, and education. Communicate effectively about patient conditions, document comprehensively, and promote safety and quality improvements aligned with professional and organizational standards.
  5. Take accountability for professional growth, participate in shared governance, and support practice improvements. Be an engaged team member, adaptable to change, and committed to quality care and a positive practice environment.
  6. Build productive relationships internally and externally, demonstrate accountability, enthusiasm, and cultural awareness. Maintain work-life balance, model safe work practices, and communicate safety concerns.
