Qualifications

Job description

Patient Services Representative (Medical Receptionist)

Join Prisma Health Urgent Care as a Patient Services Representative (Medical Receptionist) and be the first point of contact in providing a welcoming and efficient patient experience. Your role is essential in ensuring seamless front-office operations while making a meaningful impact on those we serve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and assisting patients and visitors with a positive attitude
  • Maintaining confidentiality while handling patient and business documents
  • Verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, and explaining payment policies
  • Determining and collecting patient financial responsibilities
  • Supporting staff and management to ensure smooth operations
  • Enforcing healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and OSHA
  • Performing administrative tasks and operating office medical equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with quality assurance and laboratory requirements
  • Traveling to other locations as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Administrative Assistant certification preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills and EMR software, EPIC experience preferred
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Friendly, proactive, and patient-focused approach
