Job summary

David Raines Community Health Center is seeking a proactive Patient Services Representative II to be the primary point of contact for patients at our Shreveport, LA locations. You will manage advanced scheduling, verify insurance, and collect co-payments, while rotating to multiple DRCHC sites as needed to maintain clinic efficiency and patient flow.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, EMR experience (NextGen/EDR), and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of patient/customer services experience.
• At least one year of health experience.
• Proficiency in EMR software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the NextGen system that consists of EDR application.
• Ability to multitask and manage high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance protocols.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, verify demographic information, and secure insurance authorization for services.
• Schedule appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring accurate patient calendars and maximizing clinic efficiency.
• Collect deductibles, co-payments, and deposits and advise patients on billing or insurance guidelines.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and distribute them to clinical staff.
• Address patient inquiries, communicate waiting times and resolve issues to ensure high patient satisfaction.
• Assist all patients' referrals, transportation, insurance verification, etc.
• Ensure all confidential personal health information and financial information is entered into a computerized system with a rate of accuracy.
• Comply with all federal and local laws in ensuring patient privacy and DRCHC policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as described.
