Job summary

David Raines Community Health Centers is seeking a PRN Dentist to join our team with a Shreveport/Bossier assignment. The dentist provides direct dental care, including exam, diagnosis, treatment and referrals under the supervision of the Dental Director, while following OSHA guidelines.

Requirements include DDS/DMD from an accredited school, licensure in Louisiana, BLS, EHR experience (Next Gen preferred) and ability to explain treatment plans to patients; PRN schedule with on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
• Experience with precision dental procedures and instruments.
• Experience communicating treatment plans to patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct dental care including examination, diagnosis and treatment per policy.
• Perform fillings, root canals, bridges and extractions.
• Apply sealants and fluoride, and educate patients on oral hygiene.
• Administer anesthesia safely and maintain patient records.
• Handle emergency calls as scheduled or needed.
• Collaborate with staff to plan improvements to health services.
• Maintain productivity, standards and goals.
• Document patient education and complete charts promptly.
• Record on-call assessments.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

David Raines Community Health Centers is looking for passionate, qualified applicants to join our team! The position will have a Shreveport/Bossier assignment. PRN Dentist works under the supervision of the Dental Director and provides direct dental care to all DRCHC patients including examination, diagnosis and treatment with referral to specialists. Follows all OSHA guidelines.

Work Experience Requirements

• Provides direct dental care to clinic patients including examination, diagnosis and treatment according to established policy and protocol.
• Perform restorative procedures such as fillings, root canals, bridges and tooth extractions.
• Apply sealants, fluoride treatments and teach patients proper oral hygiene techniques.
• Administer anesthetics safely, maintaining patient records and managing dental team.
• Accepts emergency calls as scheduled or as needed.
• Meets with other members of the staff and participates in planning and implementing improvements to health service.
• Is responsible for maintaining established productivity, standards and goals.
• Documents appropriate patient education.
• Completes charts in a timely manner.
• Documents on-call assessments.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited dental school with a DDS or DMD.
• Expertise in using dental tools and instruments for precise, delicate procedures.
• Ability to communicate complex treatment plans effectively to patients.
• Ability to demonstrate care, patience and compassion for patient comfort.
• Experience with electronic health records required, preferably Next Gen or similar EHS.

Licensure/Certification

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Licenses to practice dentistry in the State of Louisiana.

PRN As Needed Shreveport, Bossier, Minden, Gilliam, and Haynesville
