Job summary

Avera Granite Falls is seeking a friendly and organized Clinic Receptionist to support the daily operations of multiple clinic areas. You will welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, and complete registrations accurately.

Responsibilities include insurance verification, obtaining necessary authorizations, scanning documents, handling calls and faxes, and maintaining the scheduling system. You will coordinate with nurses and physicians to optimize patient flow and serve as a

• High School diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and checks them in, completing registration and verifying demographics and insurance.
• Obtains consent/waivers as appropriate and collects service payments.
• Performs insurance verifications and authorizations; scans information into the patient record.
• Answers calls, messages, or faxes and routes them to correct departments.
• Manages computer appointment scheduling and follows office policies.
• Coordinates nurse, physician, and patient timing to expedite care; guides patients to services.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewWorks in the various reception areas throughout the Clinic and is responsible for helping the patients to access the Clinic's system for care.What you will doWelcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration which includes verifying demographics, insurance and collection of any service payments.Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and getting consent and waiver forms signed as appropriate.Responsible for scanning all pertinent information into the patient’s record.Answers and addresses calls, messages and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed.Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time. Acts as public relations agent for the physicians by serving the patients in a friendly, efficient manner.
