Job summary

Avera Marshall is seeking a Front Desk/Receptionist to warmly welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, and guide them through clinic registration. This role supports scheduling, payments, and document scanning to ensure smooth access to care.

You will answer calls, route messages, coordinate with nurses and physicians, and help patients navigate services. A high school diploma or equivalent and strong communication are preferred, with a commitment to confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and complete registration, verify demographics and insurance.
  • Obtain authorizations and sign consent/waivers as needed.
  • Scan documents into patient records.
  • Answer calls and route messages to appropriate departments.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate care with clinicians.
  • Direct patients to ancillary services and act as public relations.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewWorks in the various reception areas throughout the Clinic and is responsible for helping the patients to access the Clinic's system for care.What you will doWelcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration which includes verifying demographics, insurance and collection of any service payments.Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and getting consent and waiver forms signed as appropriate.Responsible for scanning all pertinent information into the patient’s record.Answers and addresses calls, messages and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed.Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time. Acts as public relations agent for the physicians by serving the patients in a friendly, efficient manner. Directs patients to ancillary services as needed.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
