Job summary

Avera Family Health Center Marion Rd in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Reception/Registration Associate to welcome patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and help them access the clinic's care.

You will verify insurance, obtain approvals, scan documents, answer calls and schedule appointments, coordinating with nurses and physicians to streamline care while upholding confidentiality and CARE values.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED equivalent or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively, hear and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients, checks them in and completes registration including verifying demographics, insurance and collection of any service payments.
  • Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and getting consent and waiver forms signed as appropriate.
  • Responsible for scanning all pertinent information into the patient’s record.
  • Answers and addresses calls, messages and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed.
  • Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.
  • Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time; acts as public relations agent for the physicians by serving the patients in a friendly, efficient manner; directs patients to ancillary services as needed.

A Brief Overview

Works in the various reception areas throughout the Clinic and is responsible for helping the patients to access the Clinic's system for care.

What You Will Do

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience
  • High School or GED Equivalent or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
