*Job Summary:*The Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, creating a welcoming, professional, and patient-centered experience. This position is responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payment collection, and front office administrative support while ensuring accurate documentation and efficient clinic operations. The Patient Services Representative works collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to support exceptional patient care and outstanding customer service.*Duties/Responsibilities:** Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.* Register patients accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring demographic, insurance, and contact information is current and complete.* Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments while maintaining accurate provider schedules.* Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts to support efficient clinic operations and patient flow.* Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient appointments.* Collect copayments, outstanding balances, and other patient payments in accordance with organizational policies.* Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department.* Maintain accurate patient records while protecting the confidentiality of all protected health information.* Prepare patient charts and coordinate with clinical staff to support efficient patient care and smooth care transitions.* Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and internal departments to ensure timely resolution of patient needs.* Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.* Comply with HIPAA, organizational policies, and all applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements.* Provide general administrative support to clinic leadership and front office operations.* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.*Required Skills/Abilities:** Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.* Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.* Working knowledge of patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and payment collection processes.* Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.* Fast and accurate keyboarding and data entry skills.* Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.* Demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity when interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds.*Education & Experience:** High school diploma or equivalent required.* Minimum of two (2) years of front desk, patient registration, or medical office experience required.* Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) or a comparable electronic medical record (EMR) system required.* Experience with insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and patient registration processes required.* Proficiency with Google Workspace and healthcare technology platforms required.*Physical Requirements: ** Remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.* Frequently operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, and other standard office equipment.* Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communications.* Occasionally move throughout the office to attend meetings, collaborate with others, or retrieve materials.* Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 20-30 pounds.* Read and interpret information on computer screens and printed materials.* Occasionally travel between Practice locations or attend off-site meetings, as required.* Full-time and part-time opportunities available.*Note*_This job description outlines the core responsibilities, qualifications, and working conditions for the position.
