Job summary

Mercy South Clinic Ob/Gyn is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the welcoming first contact for patients and visitors. You will greet and register patients, verify identity, and manage check-in and check-out to ensure a smooth arrival.

You will answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting and scheduling while maintaining accurate records and protecting patient privacy. This full-time role collaborates across clinic staff to keep operations efficient and compliant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
