Responsibilities

• Registration and pre-registration for ambulatory care services; interview patients for billing and payment sources, prepare registration packets, and schedule appointments.
• Advise patients/guarantors of financial obligations; collect and process payments and co-pays.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage for ambulatory services.
• Assist patients with applications and forms; review for accuracy and completeness.
• Enter registration and billing info into computer systems and generate reports on census and financial status.
• Explain services and resources; determine enrollment options for financial assistance programs.
• Maintain records of productivity, patient location, registration and discharge.
• Inform providers of patient financial status and coordinate with healthcare staff.
• Process authorizations with health plans; notify of determinations or barriers to scheduling.
