Job summary

United Vein & Vascular Centers in Brandon, FL is seeking a Medical Receptionist / Surgical Coordinator to greet patients, collect insurance information, provide intake forms and handle payments. You will schedule appointments and maintain patient records in our EMR system, ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in medical assisting or administration.
• Experience with surgery scheduling.
• Familiarity with ECW is a plus.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients on arrival, sign them in, obtain insurance information and data.
• Provide intake and new patient forms, and copies of office policies and documents.
• Process payments for co-pays and uninsured visits.
• Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients per guidelines.
• Maintain hard copies and EMR system files.
• Audit schedule to ensure patient insurance eligibility.
• Provide patient support and guidance as needed.

• Adhere to conduct standards per Employee Handbook and protect PHI.
