A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for developing care plans, coordinating patient care services, and ensuring patients receive the necessary medical treatment. They consult with healthcare providers, evaluate patient progress, and assist with securing funding for medical care.
They coordinate activities for specific practices, including insurance verification, obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration, and order transmission. The purpose is to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. They maintain statistics and act as a liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.
