Join Our Team as a Patient Services Coordinator - Float Pool at UVA Health

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Service Coordinator III - Float Pool to join UVA Health in Northern Virginia and Culpeper. This is a full-time, entry-level position focused on providing exceptional patient service and support within our healthcare system.

Job Responsibilities
  • Schedule and register patients for outpatient clinics.
  • Verify patient eligibility and ensure all pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications are obtained, collaborating closely with physician offices, Utilization Review, and Business Office departments.
  • Communicate effectively with clinic staff and visitors, greet and assist visitors, answer phone calls, and attend meetings.
  • Work within a team to achieve patient and organizational goals, share information professionally, participate in staff meetings, and resolve conflicts independently.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of clerical experience in a medical office setting; leadership experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and customer service skills are essential.
  • Insurance knowledge and the ability to understand insurance cards and benefits are required for certain tasks.
Physical and Other Requirements
  • Frequent sitting and standing, occasional walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Proficient in computer software used in the practice.
  • May require use of safety equipment and ability to travel between facilities.
