Job summary

Cherry Health is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to deliver exceptional patient experiences across calls, intake, scheduling, and data entry at our Heart of the City - West facility. You will support clinical staff by triaging symptoms, verifying insurance, and documenting in the EHR.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high volumes of patient interactions. Bilingual Spanish is preferred; occasional nights or weekends may apply.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in medical office, call center or customer service.
• Education as above; associate degree or specialized training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and clients using scripts and effective communication.
• Input patient data including financial and demographic information into the patient record.
• Record messages for physicians and staff in the EMR system.
• Identify urgent symptoms and direct patients to clinical staff.
• Collaborate with team members to address patient needs efficiently.
• Schedule appointments, confirm them, and create patient charts in the EMR.
• Coordinate translation services when required.
• Verify insurance guidelines for scheduling, verification, and eligibility.
• Audit appointments and charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Represent the organization at community events and promote services.
• Review sliding fee scale costs as necessary.
• Aim for personal and team performance goals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
