Position Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Patient Services Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of our medical office in Westminster, MD. This essential role ensures smooth administrative workflows, outstanding patient service, and clear communication between staff and providers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing both front desk responsibilities and behind-the-scenes coordination in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Work Schedule:
Start time is 8:30 AM. Flexibility is required, with availability to work until 7:00 PM on select evenings as needed.
Core Responsibilities
Administrative Operations:
Manage the daily activities of both front and back office operations
Coordinate and confirm patient appointments, while managing provider schedules
Perform insurance verification, billing support, and patient intake processes
Create a welcoming, professional experience for all patients
Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a courteous and efficient manner
Maintain and safeguard patient records in full compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Staff Support & Communication:
Facilitate communication between clinical and administrative teams
Support onboarding and training of office staff as needed
Identify and recommend improvements for workflow and efficiency
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations at local, state, and federal levels
Maintain accurate logs and reports related to daily operations and patient services
Assist with audit preparations, regulatory reviews, and compliance tracking
Utilize EHR platforms (such as Athenahealth, Epic, or similar) for scheduling, charting, and internal communication
Coordinate IT support requests and troubleshoot equipment or system issues
Required Qualifications:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and EHR systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
