Summary:
  • The Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) assists the manager and/or physicians in maintaining a patient/customer focus, supports the delivery of high quality care, shares a passion for patient and customer centered care, and assists in meeting or exceeding patient satisfaction and financial/operational targets.
  • Performs duties of a Patient Services Associate (check in/out, patient registration, appointment scheduling, referrals/pre-authorizations). Oversees daily schedule and operations of assigned area/group. Acts as liaison between staff and management. May assume additional responsibilities in the absence of the manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., TJC, DOH, FDA, HIPAA).
  • Manage daily planning, operations, and problem-solving for assigned areas.
  • Develop and maintain schedules and templates. Oversee financial reports and reconciliation.
  • Resolve work queues/issues, prioritize recovery of missing charges, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and management. Assist in policy implementation and staff training.
  • Perform surgery scheduling as needed. Provide administrative support to physicians or managers.
  • Understand and anticipate patient needs, manage service recovery, and improve patient experience.
  • Handle patient requests, schedule appointments, manage check-in/out activities, and update EMR records.
  • Order supplies, generate reports, and participate in cash reconciliation.
  • Coordinate clinical and administrative aspects of new patient scheduling if applicable.
Education or Experience:
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 3+ years' medical office experience (Required)
  • Advanced degree may substitute for experience.
  • Associate of Arts or Science (Preferred)
