Job Details
Description

Serves as an initial point of contact in a clinic setting by performing check-in/check-out functions and booking patient appointments. Maintains compliance and confidentiality while promoting the organization’s mission and philosophy.

Essential Functions
  1. Books appointments utilizing computer system, confirms and/or updates demographic information, and notifies patients of account balances.
  2. Greets patients and registers them on the computer system.
  3. Verifies insurance eligibility using online resources, Medifax, etc.
  4. Ensures paperwork is complete, scans insurance cards as needed.
  5. Collects payments, posts amounts, and prepares end-of-day deposits.
  6. Prints necessary documents like face sheets and receipts.
  7. Notifies staff of emergencies, patient arrivals, and messages.
  8. Confirms upcoming appointments and books reschedules as needed.
  9. Verifies Worker’s Compensation claims and follows up accordingly.
  10. Assists patients with setting up payment plans and issues receipts.
  11. Books follow-up appointments.
  12. Adheres to all policies including OSHA, HIPAA, and the Code of Conduct.
  13. Maintains regular attendance and works holiday shifts as required.
Other Duties
  • Performs patient registration and data entry.
  • Handles document sorting, scanning, and release of information requests.
  • Creates master deposits and manages rightfax documents.
  • Runs wait list reports and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Required: High school diploma or GED, experience with Windows PCs.
  • Preferred: Experience in a medical setting.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, 10-key, and keyboarding.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team, manage priorities, and perform professionally.
Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
