Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking an Entry Level Patient Services Representative for the PreDoc Dental Clinic. The role provides customer service to patients by scheduling appointments, checking in/out, verifying benefits, obtaining authorizations, and triaging via phone.

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include greeting patients, validating coverage, maintaining records, and assisting in a busy clinical setting while ensuring accurate documentation and efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience is required.
• Detail oriented with ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Lotus Notes/email software.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, reviews new patient registration, obtains authorizations, assists in collecting copays and enters new patient information.
• Maintains medical and insurance referral records and prepares patient charts.
• Ensures test results are filed.
• Handles and answers all phone calls and transfers calls to the appropriate departments as needed.
• Manages patient appointments according to the physician's schedules and/or protocols.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
