Job summary

Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville seeks a Patient Services Therapy Tech for our Pediatric Day Program. You will assist children ages 7-18 with exercises and transfers under therapists, set up equipment, and help with daily activities in a half-day, Monday–Friday schedule.

You will work under the direction of physical and occupational therapists and support the nurse case manager as needed. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, customer-service experience, and comfort with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred 2+ years in medical, service or hospitality roles.
• Preferred exercise physiology/science degree and/or personal training cert.
• Good interpersonal skills and strong communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with mobility and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with exercises and transfers under therapists.
• Set up patients with equipment or technology as directed.
• Communicate patients' status to the treating therapist.
• Clean and maintain treatment areas and equipment throughout the day.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and a safe environment.
• Adhere to patient rights policies and report hazards.
• Perform basic computer tasks and MS Office duties (Word/Excel).
• Handle office duties: filing, copying, refilling supplies, scheduling.
• Pre-register walk-ins and referrals; assist nurse case manager as needed.

The Pediatric Day Program is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation program for kids age 7-18 years old with a variety of conditions. We serve these kids for half day classes Monday-Friday.
