Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, check in, verify insurance, schedule changes, and collect co-payments. Based at the Mattina location in Buffalo with travel to other Neighborhood sites as needed.

You will use strong customer service skills, collaborate with team members, and maintain accuracy in patient information while supporting smooth daily operations and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to read, write, and speak English; Spanish preferred.
• Able to learn new software and computer systems; attention to detail required.
• Customer service skills and team orientation; kindness and empathy emphasized.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and check-in upon arrival.
• Verify patient information and update in computer system.
• Confirm appointment times, locations, and providers.
• Collect co-payments and adhere to cash handling policy.
• Assist in open/close procedures and print daily reports.
• Verify insurance information and process changes as needed.
• Communicate delays to front desk; ensure appointments are confirmed.

Patient service representatives greet patients upon arrival, check-in patients, verify insurance information, schedule and change appointments, and collect co-payments.

As a patient service representative, you’ll be the first person patients see when they arrive at Neighborhood, and you’ll help set the tone for a positive patient visit.

About the Role:

As a patient service representative, kindness and fairness are key as you use your customer service skills in patient interactions. You’ll collaborate with other team members to help ensure a smooth flow for the day. Responsibilities include:

• Verifies patient information and makes corrects in the computer system
• Confirms appointment times, locations, and providers during check-in
• Communicates delays to the front desk lead
• Assists in ensuring appointments are confirmed
• Assists in open and closing procedures
• Prints daily appointment schedules and front desk reports
• Verifies insurance through epaces, heathenet, healthplex
• Inputs insurance information including active/expired dates
• Sends appropriate patient messages
• Assists patients in filling out forms
• Collects co-payments including sliding scale nominal fee
• Adheres to cash handling policy

You will be primarily based at our Mattina location, 300 Niagara St Buffalo, and will also travel to other Neighborhood sites as needed.

Education and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish is preferred
• Able to learn new software and computer systems

• Must be available to work any shift Monday-Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Compensation: Starting rate $18.50 per hour.
