Job summary

Duration

13 weeks with a strong possibility of further extension

Responsibilities

• Schedule lab, radiology, and ancillary service appointments for multiple providers across campuses
• Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications
• Register patients accurately within the EPIC scheduling and registration system
• Collect patient copays, deductibles, balances, and other financial liabilities
• Coordinate tests, procedures, and follow-up services according to provider guidelines
• Maintain and monitor Patient Access and Revenue Cycle work queues
• Notify patients of appointment details and provide procedure preparation instructions
• Process updates and corrections to patient insurance and demographic information
• Perform clerical duties including faxing, retrieving records, typing, message handling, and maintaining logs/files
• Support efficient scheduling utilization for providers, patients, and clinical resources

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field required
• 2–3 years of patient access, scheduling, registration, or healthcare administrative experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and patient financial collections required
