Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative for our West Chester office. You will greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and collect payments in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of front desk experience, familiarity with EMR systems, and a strong commitment to HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of patient registration or front office experience in a medical setting.
• Experience with insurance verification and EMR systems is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and the public.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge patients promptly; notify MAs and Providers of their arrival
• Answer incoming calls accurately and relay messages as needed
• Assist patients with completing medical history and forms
• Collect demographic and insurance information, financial consent forms and required authorizations/referrals
• Collect co-payments, co-insurances, and past-due balances; explain financial responsibilities to patients
• Complete insurance and benefits verifications and coordinate coverage issues
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate authorizations or referrals
• Scan patient information and maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Prepare charts for the following day according to the practice schedule
• Maintain a secure cash drawer and balance daily
• Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Maintain an organized and professional front office workspace
• Follow front office SOPs and site-specific protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned
