Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience in customer service and clerical/office procedures; EMR Scheduling experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Fields incoming scheduling calls and records appointments accurately.
• Interviews and pre-registers patients promptly and confidentially.
• Verifies complete and accurate data on registrations.
• Collects insurance information to secure payment guarantees.
• Contacts payers to obtain benefits and authorizations within timelines.
• Collects co-pays/deposits by telephone when needed.
• Provides patients with hospital policies and directs to appropriate units.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
• Must multi-task and adjust to changing assignments.
• Learn and work with multiple software/hardware products daily.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional handling of data.
• Comply with state and federal billing rules and regulations.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
