Job summary

Mercy Health in Perrysburg, OH, is seeking a Scheduling & Billing Specialist for Arrowhead Imaging Center. You will coordinate and schedule patient testing, interact with physician offices and care teams, and input data into the system while performing general office duties. May serve as receptionist for patients.

The role requires excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple schedules and payroll tasks to support patient care and department efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of scheduling and payroll experience preferred.
• Associate degree in business or healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, posts, and distributes daily schedules; communicates changes affecting the next day’s schedule.
• Maintains staffing levels and secures replacement staff; communicates needs to supervisor and Director.
• Reviews attendance sheets and handles PTO requests per guidelines and contracts; tracks actions for supervisor review.
• Verifies patient information from physician offices and equipment needs; coordinates with staff for supplies and scheduling.
• Ensures correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the system.
• Provides physicians and patients with pre-test instructions and answers questions about testing and scheduling.
• Maintains patient records and census reports; updates electronic records and logs.
• Obtains necessary insurance pre-authorizations and pre-certifications; handles registration duties with payor requirements.
• Verifies patient identifiers to ensure accurate patient matching per policy.
