Job summary

RiverValley Behavioral Health in Owensboro, KY seeks a Risk Manager to coordinate day-to-day risk management and patient safety activities across facilities. Under the VP of Medical Services and Compliance, you review incidents, conduct investigations, identify recurring risks, and track corrective actions to protect patients and staff.

The role supports privacy, compliance, and regulatory readiness, providing operational coordination and recommendations while aligning with program leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, social work, behavioral health, public health, risk management, or a related field.
• Three years of relevant experience in healthcare risk management, patient safety, quality improvement, compliance, clinical operations, or a related area.
• Experience reviewing incidents, conducting investigations or record reviews, and coordinating corrective actions.
• Ability to travel between RiverValley locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured risk and safety reviews across facilities to identify gaps and prioritize follow-up.
• Coordinate incident reporting and investigations with program leaders and privacy/compliance teams.
• Develop corrective action plans with owners, deadlines, and monitoring for effectiveness.
• Maintain risk logs, track trends, and prepare reports for leadership committees.
• Support policy updates, training, and regulatory readiness activities.
• Assist with privacy, compliance, and audit activities as assigned.
