Job summary

Tenet Healthcare seeks an experienced Manager of Patient Safety to oversee the facility-wide safety program at Carondelet St. Marys Hospital, guiding process improvements and reducing preventable harm.

You will collaborate with executive leadership, medical staff, and risk management to foster a culture of safety and regulatory compliance. The role focuses on leading safety assessments, coordinating committees, educating staff on system-based causes of errors, and driving continuous performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a patient care related field.
• 5+ years combined experience in clinical practice and progressive healthcare leadership.
• CPPS Certification or eligible to take the exam within one year of employment.
• Experience in Patient Safety, Quality, Risk Management, or healthcare operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of safety and high reliability.
• Review and close Safety Events in the reporting system.
• Escalate events to leadership when criteria are met.
• Investigate patient safety issues using a systems-based approach.
• Coordinate with risk management and clinical operations to reduce harm.
• Lead root cause analyses and failure mode analyses.
• Utilize data analytics to inform safety improvements.
• Lead strategic initiatives related to quality, safety, and compliance.
