Job summary

Memorial Health in Illinois seeks a patient safety professional to monitor, investigate, and analyze safety events, conduct root-cause analyses and RCAs, and support initiatives that reduce hospital-acquired conditions and medication errors. You will collaborate with nursing, medical staff, quality improvement teams, and administration to implement safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care field is required.
  • Associate’s degree in nursing with at least 10 years of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • CPPS and/or CPHQ preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, investigate, and analyze patient safety events, near misses, and incident reports.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses (RCA), failure mode & effects analyses (FMEA), and other safety assessments.
  • Coordinate patient safety–related compliance activities across departments.
  • Partner with nursing, medical staff, quality improvement teams, and administration to implement safety initiatives.
