Job summary

Indiana Regional Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Quality Patient Safety Specialist to strengthen on-site patient safety initiatives in Indiana, PA. You will review events, support investigations, and help implement corrective actions across departments.

The role reports to the Director of Quality and MH Patient Safety Lead and requires a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field with experience in quality, safety, or performance improvement. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, performance improvement, risk management, regulatory compliance, or related fields preferred.
• Experience with data collection, analysis, trending, and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the organization's patient safety program and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Review patient safety events, incident reports, and near misses for trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with event investigation, information gathering, interviews, and documentation review.
• Support Root Cause Analyses (RCA), Action Plans, and other patient safety improvement methodologies.
• Assist with implementation and monitoring of patient safety initiatives and corrective actions.
• Support the organization's Good Catch/near-miss recognition and patient safety reporting programs.
• Assist with patient safety huddles, safety rounding, and proactive safety activities.
• Escalate significant patient safety concerns to leadership.
