Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous observation for high-risk patients and support the clinical team in delivering safe, patient-centered care.

You will remain at the patient’s side, assist with activities of daily living, monitor changes, and respond to escalating concerns, contributing to a compassionate, teamwork-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required
• One year of healthcare experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic activities of daily living.
• Maintain direct line of sight with patient at all times.
• Accompany patients and ensure safety during transportation, testing, and procedures.
• Establish a safe environment using fall prevention and infection control measures.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes promptly.
• Intervene to prevent harm to patient or others and escalate as needed.
