Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital in Largo, FL is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous observation for high-risk patients and support the care team. You will help maintain a safe environment and accompany patients during transport and testing.

This role emphasizes fall prevention, infection control, and quick reporting of changes in a patient’s condition. Strong communication and compassion are essential as you help keep patients, families, and staff safe.

Qualifications

• One year healthcare experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS certification required on all clinical units.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain direct line of sight with patients at all times.
• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Accompany patients during transportation, testing, and procedures.
• Apply fall prevention, infection control, and self-harm prevention measures.
• Monitor patient physical and emotional status; report changes promptly.
• Intervene to prevent harm and seek immediate assistance as needed.
