UVM Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is seeking a Patient Safety Assistant to monitor assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will provide constant observation for patients at risk, and deliver hands-on assistance to patients and staff to ensure safety and well-being.

The role requires CPR and Heimlich maneuver competency, basic computer skills, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
• Previous medical/clinical experience preferred.
• Pre-employment screening and physical required.
• PMCS training within orientation/probation period.
• CPR and Heimlich maneuver competency required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work independently, handle interruptions, take direction and prioritize.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Sensitivity, interpersonal skills and effective verbal communication required.

Responsabilités

• Monitor assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide constant observation to patients at risk of harming themselves or acting unsafe.
• Offer hands-on in-the-moment assistance to patients and staff as needed.
• Maintain timely communication, accurate documentation, and a harmonious, customer-friendly environment.
• Operate competently in a computerized medical setting.
