Job summary

McLaren Nursing Float Pool seeks a dedicated nursing assistant to monitor at-risk patients, ensure safety, and assist with daily living activities. You will work under an RN, maintain a safe environment, and support care planning with timely communication.

The role requires a high school diploma, CNA certification preferred, and about a year of medical setting experience. Schedule is full-time with 72 hours per pay period and shift hours from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State CNA certification preferred.
• One year of experience in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain verbal report from RN including care needs, diagnosis, barriers, and considerations.
• Position self at bedside to maintain constant visual observation of the patient.
• Follow nurse instructions on ambulation and redirection as needed.
• Do not transport patients off the unit unless directed by supervising staff.
• Provide comfort, safety, and a clean patient environment.
• Work cooperatively with the team and respond to changing patient needs.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff.
• Record data accurately and notify RN of untoward events.
• Perform other related duties as required.
