Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time Senior Patient Safety Leader to champion safety programs across hospital and ambulatory sites. You will partner with executive leaders and frontline caregivers, leveraging data to drive improvements and foster a culture where quality and safety are at the forefront of every patient experience.

The role requires Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of clinical experience, plus 2+ years in safety, quality, or risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing or related field.
• Typically requires 7 years of experience in the delivery of clinical care in nursing, allied health, or health related field.
• 2+ years experience in work related to safety, quality, or risk management.
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) designation or plan to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation of patient safety programs at hospital sites and ambulatory sites of care.
• Coordinates safety efforts with site-based departments to align with high reliability culture.
• Investigates serious safety events and conducts root cause analysis.
• Provides education on patient safety topics to staff and leadership.
• Presents regularly to site executive teams on safety events and program status.
• Identifies corrective actions to reduce risk and improve patient safety.
