Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Patient Safety Investigator to lead investigations of safety events and near misses, applying ACA and other tools. The role partners with regional site safety leaders to document timelines, causal factors, and corrective actions, while promoting a culture of safety across sites.

Qualifications

• Sound oral and written communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with and influence associates and medical staff.
• Sound organizational skills; effectively manages shifting priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and analyze procedure and process changes.
• Self-directed, works with indirect and (at times) direct supervision.
• Sound critical thinking and analytical skills utilized in the cause analysis process.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point).
• Political sensitivity to the dynamic interplay that occurs between departments, physicians, associates and management.
• Current RN or Allied Health License

Responsibilities

• Facilitate timely investigation of safety events using ACA and other tools.
• Support site safety program implementation and culture of safety.
• Conduct confidential interviews to document timelines and causal factors.
• Mentor leaders to ensure effective investigations and corrective actions.
• Review ACA analyses and provide guidance to site managers.
