Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee seeks an experienced Patient Safety Leader to drive our site’s safety program and High Reliability Unit initiatives.

The role requires CPPS or commitment to obtain, 7+ years in clinical care with safety/quality exposure, and the ability to partner with clinical and non-clinical leaders. You will lead investigations, implement corrective actions, and educate teams to advance reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing, or Related Field.
• Typically requires 7 years of clinical care experience and 2 years in safety, quality, or risk management.
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) designation, or CPPS within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates implementation of the site's patient safety program with leadership and frontline tools.
• Leads the High Reliability Unit program at the home site and trains safety coaches.
• Coordinates safety efforts across departments to align with the safety plan.
• Communicates with site executives about serious safety events and program status.
• Investigates serious safety events using root cause analysis and other tools.
• Identifies corrective actions to reduce risk with system implications.
• Oversees training of patient safety team members.
• Reviews safety events daily and analyzes data for improvement.
• Collaborates with medical education on CLER compliance.
• Provides education on safety and reliability to staff at all levels.
