Job summary

MUSC Health seeks a Patient Safety Companion to support Adult and Pediatric units on the Float Team. You will provide continuous one-on-one observation to ensure safety, comfort, and well-being while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Role emphasizes flexible scheduling, exposure to diverse clinical environments, and additional float differential pay. Training includes BLS and unit-specific requirements, with opportunities for growth within the MUSC Health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• PSC II options: associate or bachelor’s degree, 1 year behavioral health experience, 1 year PSC I at MUSC, active enrollment in healthcare field, or CNA/CMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the patient closely at all times; never leave the patient unattended.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as directed by the RN.
• Notify the RN immediately of any patient concerns.
• Provide clerical support for the nurse’s station when not on assignment.
