Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to take additional courses as needed.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification required prior to orientation.
• Code Gray or AVADE Training within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred: CNA, EMT, MA licensure or equivalent training.
• Completion of relevant training programs (EMT, CNA, MA, Paramedic, RN students) may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant visual observation of an assigned patient to ensure safety.
• Perform room checks to remove potential harmful items.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Provide therapeutic interaction to alleviate anxiety or distress during observation.
• Document observations and patient responses in the medical record.
• Follow safety measures and de-escalation protocols while preserving dignity.
• Travel to different St. Charles Hospitals and departments as required.
• Support organization values and confidentiality in all activities.
