Job summary

Excela Health is seeking a Patient Safety Associate to help provide a safe environment for patients requiring supervision and companionship. You will assist with clinical and non-clinical tasks, monitor patients, and support unit staff across campuses.

This role may travel between Excela Health sites as needed and requires compassionate interpersonal abilities. You will accompany patients to testing areas, transport supplies, and interact with waiting families.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe environment for patients requiring supervision, companionship and/or diversion.
• Documents observations on safety report sheets with constant observation.
• Delivers equipment/supplies to nursing units and dietary trays.
• Provides support to waiting families/visitors in waiting rooms, hold areas and emergency departments.
• Provides friendly patient visitation services and social interaction when requested by nursing staff.
• Declutters patient rooms and ensures belongings are within reach.
• May visit patients identified by the nurse manager for social interaction.
• Other duties as assigned.
