Job summary

Liberty Hospital is seeking a Patient Companion for the Nursing Resource Office to provide continuous observation and ensure patient safety for high-risk patients. You will accompany patients during transport, assist with basic daily living activities, and collaborate with the care team.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, BLS Heartsaver certification within 14 days, and 1+ year healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 1+ year experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support Heartsaver certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains direct line of sight with patient at all times and accompanies during transport and testing.
• Prevents falls and manages patient safety using fall-prevention protocols.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes promptly to the care team.
• Intervenes to prevent self-harm or harm to others and seeks assistance as needed.
• Upholds patient privacy and confidentiality and demonstrates empathy.
• Acts as a patient-family-centered resource within the health care team.
