Job summary

Trinity Health System is seeking a Patient Companion to provide close observation of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients under the nursing plan of care. You will work under nursing supervision, ensuring safety, accurate documentation, and respectful communication with patients and visitors.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 30 days of employment. Healthcare experience is preferred, with flexibility to adapt to a dynamic hospital

• Provide direct observation of patients as directed by the nursing plan of care and under the supervision of nursing staff.

• Demonstrate understanding of the importance of safety.
• Communicate with patients in a respectful manner, considering their age, culture, and education.
• Accept delegated tasks only when competent to perform and seek guidance when needed.
• Perform timely and accurate documentation as required by area of employment.
• Greet patients and visitors and orient them to the room/unit.
