Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The PSA provides continuous observation and helps ensure a safe environment for high-risk patients, working with the nursing team to minimize falls and self-harm risks while assisting with basic daily activities.

You will maintain direct patient visibility, accompany patients during transports, and apply fall prevention and infection control measures.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• De-Escalation training required within first 90 days of hire.
• Must be comfortable staying with patient(s).
• Great attention to detail to maintain line of sight with patients.
• Experience from transporter or sitter roles in nursing/home care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a direct line of sight with the patient at all times.
• Accompany patients during transportation, testing, and procedures away from their room.
• Establish a safe environment using fall prevention and infection control practices.
• Perform regular room assessments after visits.
