Job summary

Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, CO is seeking a part-time Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) to provide continuous observation for high-risk patients. The PSA works with the care team to maintain a safe environment, prevent falls, and support basic daily living activities as needed.

The role emphasizes remaining with the patient, reporting changes to nurses, and adhering to infection control protocols while assisting with patient mobility and tests as required.

Qualifications

• BLS-HCP certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous line of sight of the patient at all times, including during bathroom use.
• Accompanies the patient to tests or procedures and remains with them unless instructed otherwise.
• Identifies and reports changes in the patient's status to the nurse and participates in hand-offs.
• Follow Infection Control policies and complete Environmental Safety Checklist each shift.
• Consult with nurse for patient mobilization and assist with ADLs as needed.
